Christmas Trail - December 4th, 2016

This year saw our 3rd Christmas Trail become even more popular, with over 20 beautifully decorated windows, refreshments and hot food at the Hall, and music from our local band and Naseby school.

It proved to be the perfect start to the Christmas season; thank you to all who attended, for making it such a special evening.

Oompah night - November 26th, 2016

Lots of German music, entertainment, food and beer.  With a bit of Elvis and Tom Jones too!  Thanks to all who came along for our first ever Oompah night.  Looks like this is another one which could become a Naseby tradition...

Battlefield Bluegrass Project Day - 12th November, 2016

The weather may have been mserable, but that didn't spoil Battlefield Bluegrass's day of teaching and jamming before their evening concert.

People of all ages  enjoyed coaching sessions with top instrument teachers, some epic jamming, great Bluegrass music, afternoon tea and cake.  The evening concert was so much fun that we're already looking forward to the next one!

Women's Institute Soup Lunch - 5th November 2016

This has always been one of Naseby's most popular events; the wonderful home-made soups and crumbles never disappoint.  Mpre people than ever came along to enjoy a delicious lunch, and to start their Christmas shopping at the various stalls, including home-made jams and preserves, crafts, cakes, biscuits, vegetables and plants, as well as jewellery and Phoenix cards.

The WI have very kindly offered to make a donation from the proceeds to the Village Hall refurbishment fund - thank you.

Village Pride - 22nd and 23rd October 2016

Village Pride definitely took pride in Naseby Village Hall with a team of very enthusiastc volunteers painting and decorating the newly refurbished changing rooms.

Thanks to all who helped - we are extremely grateful.

Babble of Naseby - 1st October 2016

With an entertaining, thought-provoking blend of poetry and prose, Babble of Naseby provided (as always) a great evening for lovers of the spoken word.  Over 80 people attended, and the unanimous opinion was that the specially-written 'Battlefield Voces' was the highlight of the evening.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice coffee morning - 30th September 2016

An extraordinarily successful coffee morning, proving that Naseby really does do well at eating cakes.  We raised £1,000 for the wonderful Cynthia Spencer Hospice.  With grateful thanks to the organisers, participants and supporters.

Candy Couture - 23rd July 2016

Oh, what a night.  Those who were there loved it, and those who weren't there wished they had been.  From feathers to sequins and disco to Prosecco, this was not an evening for the faint-hearted, but Candy has definitely won a lot of new hearts in Naseby.  Keep an eye on our Facebook page for her return visit; you wouldn't want to miss out again!

Happy and Glorious Weekend - 11th June 2016

Saturday's traditional family fete was organised by all the village organisations who worked together to arrange an afternoon of fun for everyone.  Activities included a dog show, face-painting, football, tennis, basketball, skittles, tombolas and a bouncy castle.  It seemed that everyone who lives in Naseby was at there, enjoying the wonderful bands, the delicious cakes, and the talent of the children who made fantastic Lego castles and cupcakes which were definitely fit for a queen.

Happy and Glorious Weekend - 10th June 2016

Naseby's celebrations for the Queen’s 90th Birthday were a great success. The fun started with a Children's Tea Party on Friday, 10th June.  All the school children came up to the Village Hall for an afternoon of games, after which they were joined by younger siblings for a delicious afternoon tea, all baked and provided by the parents of Naseby School.  (The hall didn't look quite like this afterwards...)

St George's Sports Day, 23rd April 2016

What a wonderful day! Lots of children (of all ages) came along to enjoy table tennis, football, rugby, basketball, hockey, short mat bowls, badminton and kwik cricket. St George won on points, but the Dragon had a good day too so he wasn't too disappointed! Thank you to everyone who joined in.

Sport Relief, 18th March 2016

On Friday, March 18th, Naseby did Sport Relief. Villagers of all ages staggered the mile round the village, before returning to the Hall for tea and cakes. (This village eats a LOT of cakes for charity!)

Murder Mystery Dinner, 5th March 2016

On a Saturday evening in March, the Mafia came to Naseby, but almost everyone survived.  Our first Murder Mystery evening was a great success (in spite of the corpses) and we raised over £1000 towards the refurbishment fund.  Thanks to all who came along.

Quiz Night, 5th February 2016

Thank you very very much to all the people who supported our biggest, most entertaining, liveliest, best supported, most profitable quiz night ever. (Who knew that paper aeroplanes could fly so far?!)  We raised just over £600 - a wonderful boost to the refurbishment fund. Thank you all.
